In the latter part of 2024, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) made notable progress in its housing projects. On August 27, 2024, the Subsidised Housing Committee approved the average selling prices and sales arrangements for the 2024 flats under the Home Ownership Scheme. This decision also involved setting income and asset limits for White Form applicants to ensure the program remains accessible to those who qualify. Furthermore, about 40% of the new flats were allocated for specific applicants under the Priority Newborns Scheme and the Priority Scheme for Families with Elderly Members, demonstrating a focused approach to meet various housing needs.

By October 31, 2024, the HA announced appointments to the Estate Agents Authority and shared details on the final design and construction contract awarded for Light Public Housing. These actions are part of a larger plan to improve housing management and increase affordable housing options. The emphasis on these initiatives is vital due to the rising demand for affordable housing solutions in Hong Kong, highlighting the HA”s dedication to tackling the city”s housing issues.
